A Guide to Toilet Cubicle Mounting Systems

Mounting determines how a cubicle reaches the floor, wall or ceiling. It affects cleaning access, visual weight and the coordination required with the building.

Overview

Mounting determines how a cubicle reaches the floor, wall or ceiling. It affects cleaning access, visual weight and the coordination required with the building. The correct choice depends on verified support conditions rather than appearance alone.

Conventional floor-supported systems

Many commercial cubicles use floor-connected legs or pedestals together with wall profiles and a top rail. They are suitable where the finished floor and wall interfaces can accept the approved fixing arrangement. Final leg location, floor penetrations and water-proofing coordination must be reviewed before installation.

Shoe-box systems

A shoe-box creates a continuous base expression rather than separate visible legs. Base Box uses the shoe-box condition without a top rail. Base Box Pro combines the shoe-box base with a defined top-rail condition. Their elevations may look related, but their approved support descriptions differ.

Wall-to-wall floating systems

Float creates a clear floor gap through a wall-to-wall floating arrangement. This can simplify the visual floor line, but it also makes wall condition, span and bracket coordination especially important. It must not be treated as a generic leg-free version of another system.

Ceiling-hung systems

Sky Hung coordinates support from the ceiling and keeps the floor leg-free. Ceiling structure, service congestion, access, levels and load-transfer strategy must be reviewed by the relevant project professionals before approval. A suspended visual does not itself confirm structural suitability.

How to choose

Compare: floor, wall and ceiling conditions cleaning and maintenance access privacy and floor-gap requirements desired architectural expression span and cubicle layout service routes and concealed obstructions programme and installation sequencing approved technical responsibility The final mounting details should be represented in the approved shop drawing and system schedule.
